live sound

With over ten years’ experience in high-level event production with the industry’s newest technology, proprietor Charles Hagaman can fill many roles as a freelancer to amplify the quality of your live event.

“From digital stage boxes and input racks and audio-over-IP, to affordable in-ear monitoring and the evolving use of spatial audio, modern live sound technology is iterating at an astonishing rate.

My goal in live sound engineering is connectedness: to make sure the performers are monitoring each other on stage and connected in whichever way they are most used to, and to give the audience a sound mix that bolsters and enhances the performance on stage. From subtle, unobtrusive sound reinforcement to bombastic, physical amplification, live sound engineering should enfold the entire audience with the energy on stage.”

  • A1/A2 Audio Engineer

Whether from front-of-house or from stage, Charles has the experience and the expertise to ensure that every input is cleanly connected, performers on stage feel supported by their monitoring, the main mix enhances the performance, and PA coverage extends to the whole audience — and that sound check will run efficiently and on time.

  • Production Manager

Preproduction, production advancing, and a rock-solid technical rider are keys to ensuring your event’s success long before load-in and day-of-show. Mekhos can author the technical spec for your venue or technical rider for your production to ensure no detail is lost in translation, or join your tour to make sure all tech is in place at every stop along the way, with no surprises for either side.

  • Systems Tech

An expert troubleshooter, Charles will ensure that any playback, audio-over-IP, speaker management, wireless RF, video routing, networking, intercom, livestreaming, or recording systems are working nominally or designed to fit your production.

  • Livestream Operator

Charles will make sure your livestream is receiving clean, dynamic audio and video, that network conditions are optimal for an uninterrupted broadcast, and that any and all destinations or hosts present your event at peak quality level.

  • Camera Operator

When needed, Charles can don a different hat and manage handheld / PTZ camera operation, or systems troubleshooting for Blackmagic ATEM broadcast environments.
